Surguja state is formerly Chota Nagpur State,Chhatisgarh StatesAgency, now in Madhya Pradesh State , area of state was 6,055 Sq miles (14 villages) ,and population of state was 5,02,000 in 1931.Privy purse of state on the time of accession (1st January 1948 ) was Rs.1,45,300.
