Worldwide stamps on Covid-19

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus.

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern' owing to an outbreak of pneumonia of unknown etiology. Thereafter, The International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV) announced severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-COV2) "as the name of the new virus. This name was chosen because the virus is genetically related to the coronavirus responsible for the SARS outbreak of 2003, WHO announced ÇOVID-19" as the name of new disease. 

Subsequently, WHO declared COVID-19 outbreak as a pandemic (a pandemic is the worldwide spread of a new disease) on 11th March 2020 and reiterated the call for countries to take immediate action and scale up response to detect, treat and reduce transmission to save peoples lives.

The Prime Minister of our country Shri Narendra Modi Ji immediately took action and announced the lockdown in the country, he took every possible steps to minimise the spread of Corona epidemic in India. Doctors, nurses health workers, police, sanitation workers and workers of all Government departments worked together as Corona warrior. Industrialists around the world came forward to financial support in this Corona epidemic, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation of Bill Gates has pledged more than US $ 350 Millions towards COVID-19 research. In India too, industrialists, Bollywood Stars and the religious Hindu organizations of the country donated huge amount in the Prime Minister's Relief Fund.

Social media around the world, in which Google, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram etc. took many steps for the public awareness . Google Chief (CEO) Sunder Pichai donated Rs. 5 crores. Also Google had announced an over US $ 800 million commitment towards efforts to tackle Covid-19 pandemic that that claimed thousands of lives globally. This includes US $ 200 million investment fund for NGOs and banks to help small businesses access capital.
