Visit the Exile Path of Lord Shri Ram Special Covers

EXILE PATH OF LORD RAM

Ayodhya is birth place of Shri Ram. Shri Ram had began his exile journey from here. There are several places in the radius of 10-12 km from Ayodhya i.e. Gaya Vedi Kund, Sita Kund, Janaura (Jankapura) etc. Which are associated with the exile of Shri Ram. 
Shri Ram had stayed here during the first night of his exile. The present names for Tamasa is Mandah or Mandar and the particular spot is known as Gaura Ghat. Gaura word has been twisted from Gaurav. It is about 20 km far from Ayodhya.
Surya Kund is about 2 km from Rampur Bhagan, Ayodhya. It is believed that Shri Ram, Sita Ji and Laxman had taken bath in this Kund and then worshipped "Surya Dev" (The Sun).
Sitakund is situated on one of the banks of river Gomti. At this place, Goddess Sita along with her husband (Lord Shri Ram) took a bath during their exile. Bathing fairs are organized here in Chaira and Kartika month.
Dev Ghat is the particular spot from where Shri Ram had crossed the river Syandika (presently Sai). It is about 12 km from Pratapgarh.
Shringverpur was the capital city of Nishadraj Guha. Presently it is known as Singrore and is situated on banks of river Ganga at about 20 km from Prayagraj towards the north. The Keval episode happened at this place. Several other places connected to Shri Ram's exile journey are located in the nearby areas. Some of them are Sandhya Ghat, Ramshaiya, Viraasan, Sri Ram Charan Padduka, Bharat Dera and Jata Vraksh etc.  
Ram Joita (Charva Village) is situated about 15 km north-west of Prayagraj. it is believed that Shri Ram had taken bath in the pond of Charva and also stayed for the night.
Maharshi Bharajdwaj Ashram is located on a mound in Prayagraj. Earlier the Ganga River used to flow through this place. This is the same place where Shri Ram had a meet the Maharshi Bharajdwaj. This place is called "Tirth Raj Prayagraj". Shri Ram himself has praised this place.
Akshaya Vat (indestructible evergreen banyan tree) described in Hindu mythology is a sacred banyan tree located on the banks of Triveni in Prayagraj. Presently the sacred banyan tree located inside the Prayagraj Fort is worshiped as Akshayayat as described in ancient texts. Mother Sita had worshiped and circumambulate this Akshaya Vat while proceedind exile.    
Sita hills is about 4 km from Rasoi in the dense forest. Shri Ram and Sita Ji had taken rest at this place. The pictorial script the entrance point of the cave is also a mystery like Sita Rasoi. Locals also called it Kauwa Khoh. 
Ancient Valmiki Ashram may be reached after a tedious climb top a steep hill near Lalapur Village. This is the place where Shri Ram had met saga Valmiki. A river named Valmiki flows near the village Lalpur.
Kamadgiri is considered to be equivalent to Shri Ram's body by his devotees. Shri Ram stayed in this region for a very long period. Even today thousands of devotees do parikrama (walk encircling the whole area) of this mount. Some of them cover the entire distance by crawling on the ground. Several sports associated with Shri Ram's exile can still be seen in Chitrakoot like Shri Ram Bharat Milan Temple. Sita Rasoi (Kitchen), Ramghat, Ramshaiya, Mandakini river etc. 
During exile, Shri Ram and Sita Ji used to have excursions at various place in Chitrakoot. They used to visit nearly places and enjoy the beauty of nature. Sometimes they used to stay at this place for the night as well. Today also there are the traces of their stay on the shilas (rock) as sign of dhanush (bow) placed between them is visible.
This is a very famous place in Chitrakoot. Nearby, there is Yagnadevi temple. Few scholars believe that this a the particular place, where Lord Ram and Sita Ji used to reside during exile. It is also believed that Goswami Tulsidas Ji got the "Darshan" (Sighted) of Shri Ram and Laxman here with blessings of Hanuman Ji.
